Twice a month, mostly every other Friday during the last block of the day we have a therapy dog visiting us! IMS students can sign up to come to the library during WIN to visit with a therapy dog.
Everyone Has A Story - Fall 2022 TWIG Grant at IMS
- Norah DooleyThis school year, through a TWIG grant, IMS will be hosting author Norah Dooley to give a presentation/workshop to each of our middle school grades in our PAC. More information and pictures coming soon!
The performance/workshop will be taking place in the Performing Arts Center the morning of Tuesday, November 22.
Grace Lin Author Visits at IMS - February 2022

ALA award-winning author Grace Lin visited with all three of our middle school grades via Zoom in February of 2022 through a mini-grant. All students also were able to preview Grace Lin's books through the previous summer reading book choices, and books made available to the classroom through the grant! In this photo, Grace visits with an 8th grade Humanities class and answers student questions about her life, writing and presentation.
Poet-in-Residence Program at IHS - Winter and Spring 2022

Working with Mass Poetry, Ipswich High school Students met monthly with two poet-in-residence educators at Ipswich High during English classes from February - May 2022 for poetry reading and writing workshops! This experience was funded thanks to a Paine Grant from the town of Ipswich.
Jarrett J. Krosoczka Author Visits January 2021

JJK visited with IMS students in January of 2021 via Zoom and thanks to a Paine Grant. He met with each grade and talked about his life and the writing process he goes through. He also led students in a series of drawing lessons!
Sy Montgomery Author Visits Fall 2020

In the fall of 2020 award-winning author and naturalist Sy Montgomery visited with IMS and IHS via Zoom and gave presentations to each of our middle school grades and one presentation to IHS students. All students had a chance to become familiar with Sy's works as several of her books were summer reading choices from the previous summer.
